Heritage Week Exhibition 2024- Dublin Blessington Steam Tram Exhibition
For this Year we originated and designed a new exhibition for Blessington Historical Society on the Dublin to Blessington Steam Tram (1882-1930). This unique railway was a vital transport network linking Dublin and Blessington in the latter part of the 19th and early part of the twentieth century. It tells the story of this unique Tram system between Terenure in Dublin and Blessington and Poulaphouca in West Wicklow and captures this unique period in history.
Collaborating with heritage Interpretative designers Eamon Sinnott & Partners, Naas – this exhibition recreates the history of this line through the designers’ unique and detailed 3D Illustrations featuring tram locomotives, carriages and Tram Stations which capture steam travel in a bygone era and the associated industrial archaeology and architectural heritage of this uniqueTramline.
The aim of this interpretation project was to retell the story of this unique late 19th century transport link between Dublin and Blessington. The exhibition panels combined detailed narratives with stunning 3D architectural illustration of locomotives, rolling stock and tram station layouts, all of which made up this historic infrastructure. With very little evidence remaining on the ground, we aimed to recreate historic environments that were both interpretative, informative and educational. Purposely designed as a mobile exhibition this can be hosted in public buildings, schools and libraries.
At Eamon Sinnott & Partners we work closely with heritage organisations, county councils, historians, academics, tidy town groups and community groups to bring their unique heritage projects to life. From detailed research, initial planning, design, interpretation, artwork, illustration and print production… we take projects from a blank sheet of paper and a conversation to finished internal and external heritage installation
National Heritage Week – 17th-25th August 2024
